Appointment of coadjutor bishop of Great Falls-Billings, U.S.A.

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Jeffrey M. Fleming, until now chancellor, moderator of the Curia and adjunct judicial vicar of the diocese of Helena, Montana, as coadjutor bishop of Great Falls-Billings, United States of America.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Jeffrey M. Fleming was born on 10 February 1966 in Billings, Montana, United States of America. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in theology and religious education at Carroll College in Helena in 1988. He carried out his ecclesiastical studies at the Mount Angel Seminary in Saint Benedict, Oregon, obtaining a master’s degree in theology (1992). He was subsequently awarded a licentiate in canon law from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. (1998).

He was ordained a priest for the diocese of Helena on 19 May 1992.

Since ordination he has held the following offices: parish vicar of the Anaconda Catholic Community (1992) and Saint Helena Cathedral (1996), chaplain of Carroll College in Helena (1998), parish priest of the Saint Rose of Lima parish in Dillon (2003), the Christ the King parish in Missoula (2006), the Saint John the Baptist parish in Frenchtown (2013), the Saint Michael parish in Drummond and the Saint Philip parish in Philipsburg (2016), administrator of the Saint Thomas the Apostle parish in Helmville and the Saint Jude parish in Lincoln (2019). He was a member of the Presbyteral Council and the College of Consultors. From 2020 to date, he has served as chancellor, moderator of the Curia and adjunct judicial vicar.
