Ash Wednesday – “Station” of the Basilica of Saint Sabina all’Aventino, presided over by the Holy Father Francis

On the first day of Lent, a celebration will take place in the form of the Roman “stations”, presided over by the Holy Father, with the following procedure:

At 16.30, in the church of Saint Anselm all’Aventino, the liturgy of the “stations” will begin, followed by the penitential procession towards the Basilica of Saint Sabina.

The procession will be attended by cardinals, archbishops, bishops, the Benedictine monks of Saint Anselm, the Dominican Fathers of Saint Sabina and a number of the faithful.

At the end of the procession, in the Basilica of Saint Sabina, Holy Mass will be celebrated with the rite of blessing and the imposition of the ashes.
