The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Gabriel Malzaire of Roseau, Dominica, as metropolitan archbishop of Castries, Santa Lucia.
Curriculum vitae
Archbishop-elect Gabriel Malzaire was born on 4 October 1957 in Mon Repos, Micoud, Santa Lucia. He attended the Saint John Vianney and Uganda Martyrs Regional Seminary in Trinidad and Tobago, and was ordained a priest for the metropolitan archdiocese of Castries on 28 July 1985.
He was awarded a doctorate in dogmatic theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University of Rome.
On 10 July 2002 he was elected as bishop of Roseau, Dominica, and consecrated the following 4 October.
Since 2017 he has served as president of the Episcopal Conference of the Antilles.

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the metropolitan archdiocese of Dijon, France, presented by Archbishop Roland Minnerath.
The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Antoine Hérouard, until now auxiliary of Lille, as metropolitan archbishop of Dijon.

Bishop Antoine Hérouard was born on 10 August 1956 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, diocese of Nanterre.
He was ordained a priest on 29 June 1985 for the metropolitan archdiocese of Paris.
On 22 February 2017 he was elected as titular bishop of Maillezais and auxiliary of Lille. On 31 May 2019 he was appointed as pontifical delegate ad nutum Sanctae Sedis for the Shrine of Lourdes.
Within the French Episcopal Conference, he is a member of the Council for the Family and Society and of the Council for Preventing and Countering Paedophilia. He represents French bishops in the Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the European Union (COMECE), in which he is Chair of the Commission of Social Affairs.

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Alex Lodiong Sakor Eyobo, of the clergy of Yei, until now formator, lecturer and bursar of the Saint Paul National Seminary in Juba, as bishop of the same diocese.

Msgr. Alex Lodiong Sakor Eyobo was born on 26 January 1971 in Wudu, diocese of Yei. He entered the Saint Mary Minor Seminary in Juba (1989-1993) and attended the Saint Paul National Major Seminary for the courses in philosophy and theology. He was awarded a diploma (1996) and a baccalaureate (2000).
On 24 June 2001 he was ordained a priest for the diocese of Yei.
After ordination, he first served as parish vicar of Sacred Heart in Lomin, Kajo Keji (2001-2002). He then obtained a diploma in information technology from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Nairobi, Kenya (2002-2003). He held the office of secretary general of the diocese of Yei from 2002 to 2006, after which he studied financial management and administration at CORAT Africa, Nairobi, Kenya (2006-2007). He went on to serve as secretary general, diocesan general bursar, coordinator of communication and education (2006-2008), diocesan chaplain for youth (2008-2013), and rector of the Saint Augustine Diocesan Minor Seminary in Yei (2013-2014). He was awarded a licentiate in biblical theology from the Urban University of Rome (2014-2018). Since 2018 he has been formator, lecturer and bursar of the Saint Paul National Seminary in Juba.

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Michael Gerard Duignan of Clonfert as bishop of Galway and Kilmacduagh, Ireland, uniting the two sees in persona Episcopi.

Bishop Michael Duignan was born on 15 July 1970 in Rooskey, Bealnamulla, Athlone. He carried out his studies in philosophy and theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University, as a student of the Pontifical Irish College, obtaining a licentiate and a doctorate in dogmatic theology.
He was ordained a priest for the diocese of Elphin on 17 July 1994.
Since ordination he has served as deputy parish priest in Saint Mary’s parish, Sligo (1995-1997), and chaplain of the Sligo Regional College (1997-1998).
After completing his studies in Rome, he was a teacher of theology and religious education at Saint Angela’s College in Sligo (2002-2005), and parish vicar of Cliffoney.
Since 2005 he has served as director of the permanent diaconate at diocesan and, since 2010, national level. From 2014 he was secretary, chancellor and diocesan vicar for education.
He was elected bishop of Clonfert on 16 July 2019, and received episcopal consecration the following 13 October.
Within the Irish Episcopal Conference, he is a member of the Commission for Migrants.

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop José de Jesús González Hernández, O.F.M., until now bishop prelate of Jesús María, as bishop of Chilpancingo-Chilapa, Mexico.

Bishop José de Jesús González Hernández was born on 25 December 1964 in Etzatán, in the archdiocese of Guadalajara.
He was ordained a priest on 29 June 1994, and incardinated in the Order of Friars Minor. He subsequently held posts in Mexico, the Holy Land, Sweden, Belgium and Mozambique.
On 27 February 2010 he was appointed as bishop prelate of Jesús María, receiving episcopal ordination the following 25 May.
He is head of the Indigenous Pastoral Dimension of the Episcopal Conference of Mexico and member of the Congregation for the Institutes of Consecrated Life and the Societies of Apostolic Life.
