Appointment of under-secretary of the Congregation for the Clergy

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Simone Renna, until now official of the Congregation for the Clergy, as under-secretary of the same Congregation.

Curriculum vitae

The Reverend Simone Renna was born in Lecce on 10 July 1974, and was ordained a priest for the metropolitan archdiocese of Lecce on 29 June 2004. He graduated in law from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, and was awarded a doctorate in canon law at the Pontifical Lateran University. He has held various offices in the diocese: parish priest, director of the Youth Pastoral and University Pastoral office, judge of the ecclesiastical tribunal, and chancellor. Since 1 October 2019 he has served as an official of the Congregation for the Clergy.
