The following is the text of the Pope’s video with the prayer intention for the month of October, disseminated via the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network on the theme Missionary Disciples: let us pray that every baptized person may be engaged in evangelization, available to the mission, by being witnesses of a life that has the flavour of the Gospel:
Video of the Holy Father
Jesus asks of us all, and of you too, to be missionary disciples. Are you ready?
It is enough to be ready for His call and to live joined to the Lord in daily matters: work, encounters, everyday tasks, always letting ourselves be guided by the Holy Spirit.
If Christ moves you, if you do things because Christ guides you, others will realise easily.
And your testimony of life will inspire admiration, and this admiration will ensure that others wonder, “How it is possible to be like that?”, or “Where does the love with which this person treats everyone, the kindness, the good humour come from?”
Let us remember that mission is not proselytism, but rather is based on an encounter between people, on the testimony of men and women who say, “I know Jesus, I would like it if you knew Him too”.
Brothers and sisters, let us pray that every baptized person may be engaged in evangelization, available to the mission, by being witnesses of a life that has the flavour of the Gospel.
