Appointment of auxiliary bishop of Iaşi, Romania

The Holy Father has appointed, as titular bishop of Murcona and auxiliary of the diocese of Iaşi, Romania, the Reverend Petru Sescu, of the clergy of the same diocese, currently parish priest of Saints Peter and Paul and dean of Bacău-Centre.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Petru Sescu was born on 3 April 1965 in Săbăoani. He attended the Saint Iosif Roman-Catholic Theological Institute in Iaşi, where he studied philosophy and theology.

He was ordained a priest in Rome on 26 May 1991.

He has held the following positions: parish vicar, prefect for discipline at the minor seminary in Bacău, diocesan bursar and parish priest of Saint Theresa of Jesus in Iaşi. Until now he has served as parish priest of Saints Peter and Paul and dean of Bacău-Centre.
