The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the archdiocese of Avignon, France, presented by Archbishop Jean-Pierre Cattenoz.

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Bernabé de Jesús Sagastume Lemus, O.F.M. Cap., as bishop of the diocese of San Marcos, Guatemala, transferring him from the diocese of Santa Rosa de Lima.
Curriculum vitae
Bishop Bernabé de Jesús Sagastume Lemus, O.F.M. Cap., was born on 20 May 1961 in San Esteban, Chiquimula, in the diocese of Zacapa. After his middle and high school studies in Guatemala, he carried out his ecclesiastical studies in philosophy and theology at the Universidad Teológica de America Central. He was awarded a licentiate in dogmatic theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University and specialised in spiritual theology at the Pontifical Antonianum University of Rome.
He gave his perpetual vows in the Order of Capuchin Friars Minor on 28 December 1985, and was ordained a priest on 31 January 1987.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Corpus Christi in Guatemala, member of the General Office for the formation of the Capuchin Friars Minor at the General Curia in Rome, director of the Postnovitiate Alvernia of the Capuchin Friars Minor in Costa Rica, professor of Christology at the Universidad Teológica de America Central and vice provincial of the Capuchin Friars Minor of the Central American Province (Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador).
He was elected bishop of Santa Rosa de Lima on 28 July 2007, and received episcopal ordination the following 6 October.
