The Holy Father, by a Chirograph dated 17 November 2020, has established as a canonical and Vatican legal person the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network Foundation (formerly the Apostleship of Prayer), based in Vatican City State. It will continue to be entrusted to the care of the Society of Jesus.

The purpose of the Foundation is to coordinate and inspire the vast spiritual movement, always dear to the Pontiff, which receives and disseminates the monthly prayer intentions proposed by the Pope to the Church.

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Fr. Frederic Fornos, S.J., as International Director of the Foundation.
