Appointment of members of the Dicasteries of the Roman Curia
The Holy Father has appointed among the members of the Dicasteries of the Roman Curia the following Eminent Cardinals:
- In the Congregation for the Oriental Churches, His Eminence Cardinal Miguel Ángel Ayuso Guixot, president of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, Spain;
- In the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples, the Eminent Cardinals: Ignatius Suharto Hardjoatmodjo, archbishop of Jakarta, Indonesia; and Michael Czerny, under-secretary for the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, Czech Republic;
- In the Congregation for the Clergy, His Eminence Juan de la Caridad García Rodríguez, archbishop of San Cristóbal de La Habana, Cuba;
- In the Congregation for the Institutes of Consecrated Life and the Societies of Apostolic Life His Eminence Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo Besungu, archbishop of Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo;
- In the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life, His Eminence Cardinal Álvaro Leonel Ramazzini Imeri, bishop of Huehuetenango, Guatemala;
- In the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, His Eminence Cardinal Matteo Maria Zuppi, archbishop of Bologna, Italy;
- In the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, His Eminence Cardinal Cristóbal López Romero, archbishop of Rabat, Morocco;
- In the Pontifical Council for Culture, the Eminent Cardinals José Tolentino Calaça de Mendonça, archivist and librarian of the Holy Roman Church, Portugal; Jean-Claude Hollerich, archbishop of Luxembourg, Luxembourg.

The Holy Father has appointed as consulters of the Commission for Religious Relations with Muslims, at the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, the Reverend Joseph Olawale OGUNDIPE, of the clergy of the diocese of Oyo, Nigeria; the Reverend Fathers Laurent BASANESE, S.J., France, director of the Centre of Interreligious Studies of the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome; Heru PRAKOSA, S.J., Indonesia, advisor for dialogue with Islam of the Secretariat for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue of the Jesuits, lecturer in the Faculty of Theology of the Sanata Dharma University of Jogyakarta; the Illustrious Dr. Martino DIEZ, researcher in Arabic language and literature at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan and scientific director of the Oasis International Foundationm, Italy; Dr. Timo GÜZELMANSUR, director of the Christlich-Islamische Begegnungs-und Dokumentationsstelle CIBEDO, Frankfurt, Federal Republic of Germany; and Dr. Gabriel SAID REYNOLDS, lecturer in Islamic studies and theology at the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, United States of America.
