The Holy Father has appointed as bishop of the diocese of Phan Thiêt, Viêt Nam, Bishop Joseph Đỗ Mạnh Hùng, currently. titular of Liberalia and auxiliary of the archdiocese of Thành-Phô Hô Chí Minh, Hôchiminh Ville.

The Holy Father has appointed Msgr. Josef Marketz, director of diocesan Caritas and episcopal vicar, as bishop of the diocese of Gurk, Austria-

Msgr. Josef Marketz was born on 30 July 1955 in St. Philippen ob Sonnegg, in the diocese of Gurk.

He carried out his philosophical and theological studies in Salzburg and Ljubljana.

On 29 June 1982 he was ordained a priest, and incardinated in the clergy of Gurk.

He subsequently became first parish vicar, then chaplain for the young, serving at the same time as parish administrator of St. Jakob, Rosental.

In 1992 he was awarded a doctorate in theology from the University of Wien.

From 1992 to 2007 he was director of the pastoral office, Slovenian section, and at the same time parish priest in Radsberg.

From 2007 to 2008 he studied in Jerusalem and Rome.

In 2009 he became director of the pastoral office and, finally, since 2014, he has served as director of diocesan Caritas and episcopal vicar.
