Appointment of bishop of Moshi, Tanzania

The Holy Father has appointed as Bishop Ludovick Joseph Minde, ALCP/OSS, of Kahama, as bishop of the diocese of Moshi, Tanzania.

 

Appointment of coadjutor of San Bernardino, U.S.A.

The Holy Father has appointed as coadjutor bishop of San Bernardino, United States of America, Bishop Alberto Rojas, titular of Marazane and auxiliary of Chicago.

Bishop Alberto Rojas was born on 5 January 1965 in Aguascalientes, Mexico. He carried out his ecclesiastical studies at the Santa Maria de Guadalupe Seminary in Aguascalientes, Mexico, and at the University of Saint Mary of the Lake Seminary in Mundelein, Illinois.

He was ordained a priest for the archdiocese of Chicago on 24 May 1997.

Since ordination he has served as deputy parish priest of the Saint George the Great parish (1997-1999) and the Saint Ita parish (1999-2002), formator at the Saint Mary of the Lake Seminary in Mundelein (2002-2010), and parish priest of the Good Shepherd parish (2010-2011).

On 13 June 2011 he was appointed as titular bishop of Marazane and auxiliary of Chicago.

He has served as episcopal vicar for the Vicariate I and regional delegate for the V Encuentro.

Within the Episcopal Conference he is a member of the Hispanic Affairs and Catholic Home Missions Committees.
