The Credential Letters of the Ambassador of Nicaragua to the Holy See, 04.10.2019

At 10:30 this morning, the Holy Father Francis received in audience Her Excellency Mrs Gilda María Bolt González, ambassador of Nicaragua to the Holy See, on the occasion of the presentation of her credential letters.

The following is a brief biography of the new ambassador:

Ambassador of Nicaragua to the Holy See

Mrs Bolt González was born in Matagalpa on 5 June 1956. She is married and has a daughter.

She has a degree in social sciences, a specialization in financial management and a master’s degree in public policy.

She has held the following offices: head of the formulation of development plans in the Western Region of Nicaragua, in the fields of education, reconstruction, monitoring the efficiency of administrations and anti-corruption control (1992 - 2000); director of Institutional Relations in the Contraloría General de la República, (2000 - 2006); head of Cabinet of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2006); ambassador to El Salvador (2007 - 2014); deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, non-resident ambassador in Belize and presidential delegate for Central American Integration (2014 - 2018).

She knows English.
