Appointment of apostolic administrator sede vacante of the apostolic vicariate of Alexandria of Egypt of the Latins

The Holy Father has appointed as apostolic administrator sede vacante of the apostolic vicariate of Alexandria of Egypt of the Latins the Rev. Fr. Elia Eskandr Abd Elmalak, O.F.M., currently vicar general of the eparchy of Luqsor-Tebe.

Rev. Fr. Elia Eskandr Abd Elmalak, O.F.M.

The Rev. Fr. Elia Eskandr Abd Elmalak, O.F.M., was born in Assiut on 10 January 1975 and gave his religious vows in the Order of Friars Minor on 4 September 2008. He was ordained a priest on 22 August 2009. He has exercised the ministries of parish priest and school director, in Qena (2009), Cumimbo (2010), and Twairat (2013).

Since 25 July 2016 he has served as vicar general of the eparchy of Luqsor-Tebe.

The Holy Father has appointed as members of the College for the examination of appeals in matters of delicta reservata, instituted at the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Msgrs. Filippo Iannone, Andrea Migliavacca, Egidio Miragoli, Carlo Roberto Maria Redaelli, Arthur Roche, Pier Antonio Pavanello, and Cyril Vasil’.

In addition, His Holiness has appointed Msgr. José Luis Mollaghan as substitute member of the same College.
