The Holy Father has appointed as auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Luxembourg, Luxembourg, the Rev. Msgr. Léon Wagener, of the clergy of the same archdiocese, vicar general, assigning him the titular see of Aquae Novae in Numidia.
The Rev. Msgr. Monsignor Léon Wagener was born on 12 April 1962 in Ettelbruck. He studied at the classical school of Diekirch and, after completing his secondary studies, from 1982 to 1987 he attended the training course at the Faculty of Theology in Trier, Germany. From 1984 to 1985 he attended courses at the Institut Catholique de Paris. He graduated in theology in 1987.
He was ordained a priest on 2 July 1988 for the archdiocese of Luxembourg.
After ordination, he served as parish vicar in Diekirch until 1990, when he became pastor of Pontpierre and Bergem until 2006. From 1991 to 2015 he was also national chaplain of Jeunesse Rurale Catholique. In addition, from 1992 to 2006 he held the position of diocesan chaplain for young people. From 2004 to 2009 he was ecclesial assistant to the Diocesan Council for the Laity. From 2003 to 2015, he was a member of the presbyteral council and chaplain of the Hospice of Luxembourg-Hamm.
From 2006 to 2015 he was moderator of the pastoral team in charge of the community of Bounweg-Hamm and dean of Luxembourg-East; from 2007 to 2010 he held the position of deputy regional dean of the pastoral area of Luxembourg, and became regional dean in 2010. From 2013 to 2015 he served as episcopal vicar for pastoral ministry.
In 2015 he was appointed as vicar general and moderator of the archiepiscopal curia.

The Holy Father has appointed as auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of São Paulo, Brazil, the Rev. Jorge Pierozan, of the clergy of the same archdiocese, currently episcopal vicar and parish priest of the Sagrado Coração de Jesus in the Lapa episcopal region, assigning him the titular see of Arena.
The Rev. Jorge Pierozan was born on 10 August 1964 in Vanini, in the diocese of Caxias do Sul, state of Rio Grande do Sul. He carried out his studies in philosophy at the University of Caxias do Sul, and in theology at the Nossa Senhora da Assunção Pontifical Faculty of Theology in São Paulo.
He was ordained a priest on 24 May 1997, and incardinated in the archdiocese of São Paulo, where he held the following offices: parish priest of Santíssima Trindade in the Lapa episcopal region (1997-2009) and parish administrator of the same parish (2009-2015); member of the Regional Commission of Presbyters, coordinator of the Rio Pequeno sector; member of the presbyteral council, pastoral coordinator of the Lapa episcopal region (2012-2016); ecclesiastical assistant for the pastoral care of nomads (since 2015); and member of the Regional Commission for Economic Affairs (since 20159. In addition, he has served as delegate at the World Congress for the Pastoral Care of Gypsies in Budapest (2003) and in Freising (2008); vice president of pastoral care for nomads of Brazil; and ecclesiastical assistant of the Voz dos Pobres community.
Currently, within the Lapa episcopal region of the archdiocese of São Paulo, he is episcopal vicar (since 2017), adjunct vicar general (since 2015) and parish priest of the Sagrado Coração de Jesus (since 2010).
