Statistical Data
The presence of Ukrainian Greek-Catholic faithful in Italy dates back to more than twenty years ago, and their pastoral care was progressively organized within the Servizio Migrantes of the Italian Episcopal Conference, with the appointment of a priest as national coordinator and the responsibility for the individual communities entrusted to the local Latin bishop.
The connection with the archiepiscopal Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church was guaranteed also through the figure of the bishop apostolic visitor, currently H.E. Msgr. Dionisio Lachovicz, O.S.B.M.
To date the number of faithful has reached seven thousand, divided into 145 communities assisted by 62 priests.
The circumscription encompasses the entire Italian territory.
The cathedral church and the seat of the exarchate will be at the parish of Saints Sergius and Bacchus in Rome.
