The Holy Father has elevated to the grade of diocese the territorial prelature of Cristalândia, Brazil, and has appointed H.E. Msgr. Wellington de Queiroz Veira, currently bishop prelate, as the first bishop of the new diocese. At the same time he has modified the boundaries of the new diocese of Cristalândia and the diocese of Miracema do Tocantins.
The bishop-elect was born in 1968 in Tocantinópolis, Brazil, and was ordained a priest in 1996 and a bishop in 2017.
