Press Release of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, 24.06.2019
As part of the traditional exchange of delegations for the respective feasts of the Patron Saints, on 29 June in Rome for the celebration of the Saints Apostles Peter and Paul, and on 30 November in Istanbul for the celebration of Saint Andrew the Apostle, a delegation of the Ecumenical Patriarchate will visit Rome from 27 to 29 June 2019. The delegation will be led by the Archbishop of Telmissos, Job, representative of the ecumenical Patriarchate at the World Council of Churches and co-president of the Joint International Commission for Theological Dialogue between the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church. The archbishop Job will be accompanied by the bishop of Melitene, Maximos, by the Deacon Bosphorius Mangafas. On Friday 28 June, the delegation of the Patriarchate will be received in audience by the Holy Father Francis and will have conversations with the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity; on Saturday 29 June, he will attend the solemn Eucharistic celebration presided at by the Holy Father.
