Appointment of auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Armagh, Ireland
The Holy Father has appointed as auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Armagh, Ireland, the Rev. Michael Router, currently parish priest of Bailieborough, assigning him the titular episcopal see of Lugmad.
The bishop-elect was born in 1965 in Rahardrum, Ireland, and was ordained a priest in 1989. He holds a higher diploma in education from the National University of Maynooth. He has served in a number of pastoral roles, including parish vicar, professor and school chaplain, director for formation in adult faith, director of the diocesan pastoral centre, parish priest and vicar forane of the deanery of Bailieborough.
