Appointment of auxiliary of San Juan de Cuyo, Argentina

The Holy Father Francis has appointed as auxiliary of San Juan de Cuyo, Argentina, the Rev. Fr. Carlos María Domínguez, O.A.R., provincial prior of Santo Tomás de Villanueva, Spain.

The bishop-elect was born in San Martin on 23 December 1965, and was ordained a priest on 13 March 1993 and incardinated in the Augustinian Recollects. He holds a licentiate in pastoral theology from the Pontifical Catholic Argentine University.

He has held the following roles: director of a college of the Augustinian Recollects; parish vicar; vocational promoter; prior of the San Ezequiel Seminary; supervisor of the Commission for Youth Pastoral of the Argentine Episcopal Conference; provincial vicar; provincial of the Order of Augustinian Recollects at the Seminary and the Sagrado Corazón do Guadalajara College, Spain.

Since 2015 he has served as provincial prior of Santo Tomás de Villanueva, Spain.
