Press Conference of 7 February

On Thursday 7 February 2019, at 11.30, at the Holy See Press Office, in Via della Conciliazione 54, a press conference will take place to present the World Day of Prayer, Reflection and Action Against Human Trafficking, promoted by the International Union of Superiors General (UISG/USG), which takes place every 8 February, feast day of Saint Josephine Bakhita. This year’s theme will be: “Together against human trafficking”.

The speakers will be:

- Fr. Michael Czerny, S.J., under-secretary of the Migrants and Refugees Section of the Dicastery for Integral Human Development;

- Fr. Frédéric Fornos, S.J., international director of the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network;

- Sr. Gabriella Bottani, S.M.C., international coordinator of Talitha Kum.

In addition, the conference will also be attended by some survivors; Sr. Carmen Ugarte, OSR, Sr. Mary Adeline Abamo, SDS, two religious sisters active in this field; Fr. Bruno Ciceri, C.S., official of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development and director of the International Apostleship of the Sea.

 

Press Conference of 8 February

On Friday 8 February 2019, at 11.30, at the Holy See Press Office, in Via della Conciliazione 54, a press conference will be held to present the study meeting “The Lateran Pacts. Round Table for the 90th anniversary (1929-2019)”, organized by the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences, which will take place in the Vatican at the Pontifical German College, on 12 February 2019.

The speakers will be:

- Rev. Fr. Bernard Ardura, O. Praem., president of the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences;

- Professor Matteo Nacci, Pontifical Lateran University.
