On Friday 20 October 2017, at 12.15 in the Holy See Press Office, Via della Conciliazione 54, a press conference will be held to present World Missionary Day – the penultimate Sunday of October – and the missionary month (“Missionary October”).

The speakers will be:

- His Eminence Cardinal Fernando Filoni, prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples;

- H.E. Msgr. Protase Rugambwa, president of the Pontifical Mission Societies;

- Rev. Fr. Fabrizio Meroni, PIME, secretary general of the Pontifical Missionary Union, director of CIAM and director of Agenzia Fides.

The theme of the Holy Father’s Message for the 91st World Missionary Day, published on 4 June 2017, is “Mission at the heart of the Christian faith”.
