Resignations and Appointments, 03.08.2017
The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Neuquén, Argentina, presented by His Excellency Rev. Msgr. Virginio Domingo Bressanelli.
The Pope has appointed as bishop of Neuquén, Argentina, Msgr. Fernando Martín Croxatto, titular bishop of Fissiana and auxiliary of Comodoro Rivadavia.
Msgr. Fernando Martín Croxatto
Msgr. Fernando Martín Croxatto was born in Morón, Buenos Aires on 25 September 1956. After attending the University of Buenos Aires up to the fourth year of the course in medicine, he entered the Metropolitan Seminary of Villa Devoto in 1979, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in theology. He was ordained a priest on 6 December 1986, and served as vicar of the parish of Cristo Rey in Buenos Aires and vice-rector of the Seminary’s preparatory house of formation (1987-1990). In 1991 he transferred to the diocese of San Roque de Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña, where he was incardinated in 2000, holding the offices of pastor of the parish of San Antonio de Padua de Santa Sylvina, Coronel Du Graty (1991-1993), rector of the pre-seminary and head of diocesan vocational, youth and missionary pastoral ministry (1994-2006); parish priest of Santa Cruz, in San Roque de Presidencia (1995-2001); vicar general (1998-2008); and parish priest of the Cathedral (2002-2008). Since 2008 he has served as parish priest of San Francisco Solano in El Sauzalito.
On 13 March 2014 he was appointed as titular bishop of Fissiana and auxiliary of Comodoro Rivadavia, receiving episcopal ordination the following 17 May.
He is a member of the Missions Commission of the Argentine Episcopal Conference.
