The Pope has appointed as bishop of Raleigh, United States of America, H.E. Msgr. Luis R. Zarama, titular bishop of Bararo and auxiliary of Atlanta.
H.E. Msgr. Luis Rafael Zarama
H.E. Msgr. Luis Rafael Zarama was bor non 28 November 1958 in Pasto, Colombia, in the diocese of the same name. He attended the seminary of Pasto and the Universidad Mariana where he studied philosophy and theology (1982-1987). He then obtained a licentiate in canon law from the Universidad Javeriana in Bogota (1991).
He was ordained a priest on 27 November 1993 for the archdiocese of Atlanta.
Since priestly ordination he has held the following offices: vicar of the Sacred Heart parish in Atlanta (1993-1996); pastor of the Saint Mark parish in Clarkesville and parish administrator of the Saint Helena Mission in Clayton (1996-2006); assistant director for vocations (2000-2009); member of the personnel board (since 2004) and vicar general (since 2006). In the metropolitan Tribunal of Atlanta he has served as attorney for the Appeals Tribunal (1993-1997), Defender of the Bond (1997-2009) and judicial vicar (since 2008).
In 2004 he became a citizen of the United States and in 2007 he was appointed as Chaplain of His Holiness.
He was appointed as titular bishop of Bararo and auxiliary of Atlanta on 27 July 2009 and received episcopal consecration on the following 29 September. As auxiliary of Atlanta he continued as vicar general, judicial vicar and member of the personnel board, with the additional offices of episcopal vicar for the Region I and for the Hispanic community of northern Georgia, and member of the board of directors of the Saint Vincent regional seminary in Boyton Beach, Florida.
He is a member of the Committee for Migration of the Episcopal Conference.

The Holy Father has appointed as auxiliary bishops for the archdiocese of Olomouc, Czech Republic: Rev. Msgr. Josef Nuzik, assigning him the titular see of Castra di Galba, and the Rev. Can. Antonín Basler, assigning him the titular see of Vaga.
H.E. Msgr. Josef Nuzik
H.E. Msgr. Josef Nuzik was born on 25 July in Stráni. After completing his philosophical and theological studies at the Saints Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology of the Palacký University of Olomouc, he was ordained a priest for the archdiocese of Olomouc on 17 June 1995.
He subsequently held various pastoral offices in the diocese: chaplain in Nový Jičiín (1995-1996); chaplain in Luhačovice (1996 to 1997); parish administrator in Nivnice (1997-2002). From 2003 to 2005 he was vicar forane and parish priest of Štipa and from 2005 to 2009, vice rector of the archiepiscopal seminary. Since 2009 he has served as vicar general of the archdiocese and also canon of the Saint Wenceslas Metropolitan Chapter in Olomouc.
H.E. Msgr. Antonín Basler
H.E. Msgr. Antonín Basler was born on 16 February 1956 in Šumperk. After After completing his philosophical and theological studies at the Saints Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology in Litomĕřice, he was ordained a priest on 30 June 1984 for the archdiocese of Olomouc.
From 1984 to 1990 he was chaplain in Luhačovice and then parish priest in Vizovice and vicar forane of the vicariate. Since 1999 he has served as pastor of the parish of Saint Michael in Olomouc and also chancellor of the archiepiscopal Curia since 2000. In 1999 he was appointed as canon of the Saint Wenceslas Metropolitan Chapter in Olomouc.
