The Holy Father Francis has appointed as auxiliary of the archdiocese of Barcelona, Spain, the Rev. Sergi Gordo Rodríguez, secretary general and chancellor of the same archdiocese, assigning him the titular see of Cene.
The Pope has appointed as auxiliary of the archdiocese of Barcelona, Spain, the Rev. Antoni Vadell Ferrer, vicar for evangelization of the diocese of Mallorca, assigning him the titular see of Urci.
Rev. Sergi Gordo Rodríguez
The Rev. Sergi Gordo Rodríguez was born in Barcelona on 23 March 1967. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in theology from the Faculty of Theology of Cataluña in 1990. He was ordained a priest on 14 June 1992. He obtained a licentiate in philosophy from the Ramón Llul University of Barcelona in 1994 and completed two years of a doctorate in philosophy at the same university. From 2001 to 2004 he extended his studies in German language and philosophy in Munich, Bavaria.
After ordination he served as formator of the minor seminary and collaborator in the parish of Holy Mary and the Most Holy Trinity in Vilafranca del Penedès (1992-2001); collaborator in the episcopal delegation for consecrated life, responsible for relations with secular Institutes (1997-2005); and professor in the faculty of philosophy and theology (1998-2017). He has served as secretary general and chancellor of the Curia, and secretary of the ecclesiastical province of Barcelona since 2004; canon and member of the presbyteral council since 2009, and member of the patrons of the Foundation for the construction of the Basilica of the Holy Family.
Rev. Antoni Vadell Ferrer
The Rev. Antoni Vadell Ferrer was born in Llucmajor, Mallorca, on 17 May 1972. He was ordained a priest on 31 May 1998 and obtained a licentiate in catechetics from the Pontifical Salesian University in Rome in 2007. He has served as vicar of the parish of Blessed Ramón Llul (1998-2006); rector of the minor seminary (1999-2006), delegate for pastoral ministry and formation of the major seminary (2002-2006); parish vicar of San José Obrero and of Corpus Christi (2009-2014); diocesan delegate for catechesis (2009-2013); episcopal vicar for evangelization (since 2013); member of the presbyteral council and the college of consulters (since 2014); rector of the Pastoral Union of Inca, Caimari, Biniamar and Lloseta (since 2014); and ordinary professor of the Higher Centre for Religious Sciences in Mallorca (since 2015).

The Holy Father has appointed as auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Mérida, Venezuela, the Rev. Luis Enrique Rojas Ruiz, of the clergy of Mérida, currently parish priest of the “Inmaculada Concepción” Cathedral of Mérida, assigning him the titular see of Unizibira.
Rev. Luis Enrique Rojas Ruiz
The Rev. Luis Enrique Rojas Ruiz was born in Mérida on 31 August 1968. He carried out his studies in philosophy and theology at the “San Buenaventura” seminary of Mérida. He obtained a licentiate in pastoral theology from the Pontifical Lateran University of Rome, and a master’s degree in psychology and consultation from the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum of Rome, and specialized in ecclesiastical management at the Universidad de Los Andes in Mérida. He received priestly ordination on 15 September 1999, and was incardinated in the archdiocese of Mérida.
He subsequently held the following offices: vicar of the parishes of “Nuestra Señora de la Regla”, “Santiago Apóstol de Lagunillas”, and “Santa Rita del Pueblo Nuevo del Sur”; pastor of the parish of “Santo Domingo de Guzmán”, administrator of the parish of “Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria”, in Las Piedras, formator of the “San Buenaventura” seminary of Mérida, pastor of the parish of “Nuestra Señora del Carmen” in Canaguá, pastor of the parish of “Nuestra Señora de la Asunción” in Mérida, preparatory formator of the “San Buenaventura” seminary of Mérida, deputy supervisor of the Pre-matrimonial School of the archdiocesan family pastoral service, rector of the “San Buenaventura” Shrine of Ejido, director of “Radio Libertad” in Canaguá, and since 2013, parish priest of the “Inmaculada Concepción” Cathedral of Mérida.

The Holy Father Francis has appointed as auxiliary bishop of the diocese of Santiago del Estero, Argentina, the Rev. Enrique Martínez Ossola, of the clergy of La Rioja, vicar general of the same diocese, assigning him the titular see of Acquapendente.
His Excellency Msgr. Enrique Martínez Ossola
Msgr. Enrique Martínez Ossola ws born on 3 June 1952 in Córdoba, Argentina. He was ordained a priest on 11 March 1978, and incardinated in the diocese of La Rioja.
As a priest he has held the following offices: parish vicar of San Juan Bautista in Chepes and Nuestra Señora del Rosario in Ulapes; pastor of the Nuestra Señora del Rosario parish in Malazán, of the parish of Chamical, of the Cathedral of La Rioja, of the parish of Villa Unión, of Nuestra Señora de la Anunciación in La Rioja, and of the parish of Chilecito. In addition, he has served as director of the Commission of diocesan catechesis and vice president of diocesan Caritas. He is currently vicar general of the diocese of La Rioja.
