Appointment of bishop of Limoges, France

The Holy Father Francis has appointed the Rev. Pierre-Antoine Bozo, currently vicar general of Séez, as bishop of the diocese of Limoges, France.

Rev. Pierre-Antoine Bozo

The Rev. Pierre-Antoine Bozo was born on 14 March 1966 in Argentan in the diocese of Séez. He attended the Faculty of Law of the Université Caen-Normandie, obtaining a licentiate in jurisprudence.

From 1988 to 1995 he was a pupil at the Pontifical French Seminary in Rome, and studied at the Pontifical Gregorian University, obtaining a licentiate in dogmatic theology, specializing in ecclesiology.

He was ordained a priest on 3 July 1994, and was incardinated in the diocese of Séez. After priestly ordination he continued his studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome for a year. He has held the following offices: parish vicar and chaplain of public teaching in Alençon (1995-2005); from 1997, professor at the Centre d’Études Théologiques de Caen, diocesan head of service for vocations (1997-2003); diocesan head of youth pastoral ministry (2003-2007); vice rector of the Saint-Jean-Eudes interdiocesan seminary in Caen (2007-2012); episcopal vicar of Séez (2011-2015); rector of the Saint-Jean-Eudes interdiocesan seminary in Caen and administrator of the Pays d’Ô parish (2012-2015). Since 2015 he has served as vicar general and moderator of the episcopal Curia of Séez, and pastor of the parish of Pays d’Ô; and since 2016, dean of Séez.
