The Pope and the Roman Curia begin the Spiritual Exercises, 05.03.2017
After praying the Angelus, the Pope greeted the faithful from the dioceses of Madrid and Córdoba, Spain, and Warsaw, Poland, along with Italians from Belluno and Mestre, the young people of the diaconate of Baggio, Milan, and participants in the meeting held by the Religious Teachers Filippini.
“A few days ago was the beginning of Lent, which is the journey of the People of God towards Easter, a path of conversion, of struggle against evil with the weapons of prayer, fasting, and works of charity”, he continued. “I wish all of you a fruitful Lenten journey, and I ask you to remember me and my collaborators in the Roman Curia in prayer; this evening we begin the week of Spiritual Exercises. I thank you from the heart for your prayers”.
“And please, do not forget what would happen if we treated the Bible like we treat our mobile phone. Think of this: the Bible always with us, near us. I wish you a good Sunday and a good lunch. Goodbye”.
