The Holy Father has:

- appointed Msgr. Cristiano Bodo as bishop of Saluzzo (area 1,815, population 99,100, Catholics 91,800, priests 107, permanent deacons 9, religious 64), Italy. The bishop-elect was born in 1968 in Vercelli, Italy and was ordained a priest in 1993. He holds a licentiate in theology from the Northern Italy Faculty of Theology in Padua, and has served in a number of roles, including: secretary to Bishop Mensa and to the then-archbishop Tarcisio Bertone from 1991 to 1995; parish priest and administrator in various parishes in northern Italy; vice-rector of the major seminary of Vercelli; director of the diocesan centre for vocations, vicar general and director of the office for teenagers and young adults of the archdiocese of Vercelli, member of the regional secretary for vocational pastoral ministry, diocesan assistant for the ANSPI, archiepiscopal delegate for the world of sport (CONI), episcopal advisor for the C.S.I. and episcopal delegate for university pastoral ministry, diocesan head of cultural projects, spiritual assistant for the Vercelli football team, and episcopal vicar for youth. He was named Prelate of Honour of His Holiness in 2007 and is currently episcopal vicar for pastoral ministry and moderator of the Curia for the same archdiocese. He succeeds Bishop Giuseppe Guerrini, whose resignation from the pastoral care of the same archdiocese was accepted by the Holy Father.

- accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the apostolic vicariate of Yurimaguas, Peru, presented by Bishop José Luis Astiarraga Lizaralde, C.P., and appointed Fr. Jesús María Aristín Seco, C.P., currently secretary general of the Passionist Fathers in Rome, as apostolic administrator sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis.
