Il Santo Padre Francesco ha accettato la rinuncia al governo pastorale dell’Ordinariato personale di Our Lady of Walsingham (Gran Bretagna) presentata dal Rev.do Mons. Keith Newton.
Sua Santità ha nominato Vescovo Ordinario dell’Ordinario personale di Our Lady of Walsingham (Gran Bretagna) il Rev.do David Arthur Waller, del clero dell’Ordinariato, finora Vicario Generale dell’Ordinariato e Parroco di Christ the King a Chingford.
Curriculum vitae
S.E. Mons. David Arthur Waller è nato il 10 giugno 1961 a Londra e si è laureato in Teologia presso l’University of Leeds. Dopo la laurea, ha trascorso sei anni come assistente sociale (community worker) a Bradford, nel nord dell’Inghilterra. Nel 1989, ha iniziato la sua formazione agli ordini anglicani presso il Chichester Theological College, alla fine della quale ha ricevuto l’ordinazione al diaconato e al sacerdozio nella Chiesa d’Inghilterra, rispettivamente nel 1991 e 1992. Ha ricoperto diversi ruoli pastorali nella Diocesi Anglicana di Chichester, nella contea del Sussex, dove ha altresì prestato servizio come Cappellano ospedaliero e Membro del Sinodo Diocesano.
Nel 2000, ha accettato l’incarico di Parroco di St. Saviour a Walthamstow, nella Diocesi di Chelmsford, nella zona est di Londra. Oltre ai suoi compiti pastorali, ha ricoperto anche altri ruoli pastorali e amministrativi, tra cui quello di Membro del Consiglio dei Chierici del Vescovo Anglicano di Richborough, di Presidente della Commissione Diocesana per l’educazione religiosa e di Membro del Sinodo Generale della Chiesa d’Inghilterra. Dopo la pubblicazione della Costituzione Apostolica Anglicanorum coetibus nel 2009, ha deciso di intraprendere un cammino che lo avrebbe condotto ad entrare nella Chiesa Cattolica.
S.E. Mons. Waller è stato accolto nella piena comunione con la Chiesa Cattolica durante la Settimana Santa del 2011. Dopo aver ricevuto l’ordinazione nella Chiesa Cattolica, secondo le disposizioni della suddetta Costituzione Apostolica, ha ricoperto gli incarichi di Amministratore di St. John the Baptist a Ilford (2011-15) e Parroco di Christ the King a Chingford (2015-presente). All’interno dell’Ordinariato, ha prestato altresì il suo servizio come Presidente del Consiglio di governo, come Decano per il Sud Est dell’Inghilterra e come Vicario Generale dell’Ordinariato.

Resignation of the Ordinary of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham (Great Britain) and Appointment of the Bishop Ordinary
The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham (Great Britain), presented by Reverend Msgr. Keith Newton.
His Holiness has appointed Reverend David Arthur Waller, until now Vicar General of the Ordinariate and Pastor of Christ the King Parish in Chingford, as Bishop Ordinary of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham (Great Britain).
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. David Arthur Waller was born on June 10, 1961, in London and graduated with a degree in theology from the University of Leeds. After graduation, he spent six years as a community worker in Bradford, northern England. In 1989, he commenced his training for Anglican orders at Chichester Theological College, at the end of which he received ordination to the diaconate and priesthood in the Church of England in 1991 and 1992, respectively. Subsequently, he held various pastoral roles in the Anglican Diocese of Chichester, in Sussex, where he also served as a hospital chaplain and Member of the Diocesan Synod.
In 2000, he was named Vicar (Parish Priest) of the Parish of St. Saviour in Walthamstow, East London, in the Anglican Diocese of Chelmsford. In addition to his pastoral duties, he held other pastoral and administrative roles, including Member of the Anglican Bishop of Richborough's Council of Priests, Chairman of the Diocesan Religious Education Committee, and Member of the General Synod of the Church of England. After the publication of the Apostolic Constitution Anglicanorum coetibus in 2009, he decided to embark upon a path that would lead him to enter the Catholic Church.
In Holy Week 2011, Msgr. Waller was received into full communion with the Catholic Church. He was ordained to the priesthood in the Catholic Church, following the provisions of Anglicanorum coetibus, and subsequently held the offices of Administrator of St. John the Baptist Parish in Ilford (2011-15) and Parish Priest of Christ the King Parish in Chingford (since 2015). Within the Ordinariate, he has also served as President of the Governing Council, Dean for South East of England, and Vicar General.
