Pubblichiamo di seguito il Messaggio che il Santo Padre Francesco ha inviato al Presidente del Consiglio Esecutivo della Comunità di Vita Cristiana (Christian Life Community – CVX-CLC), Mauricio López Oropeza, e a tutti i partecipanti alla XVII Assemblea mondiale che si tiene a Buenos Aires, in Argentina, dal 22 al 31 luglio 2018, sul tema “CLC, un dono per la Chiesa e per il mondo”, nel 50.mo di fondazione dell’Associazione:

Al Señor Mauricio López Oropeza
Presidente de la Comunidad
de Vida Cristiana Mundial

Querido hermano:

He recibido tu atenta carta, en la que me informas de la celebración de vuestra Asamblea Mundial 2018, cuando se cumplen los 50 años de vuestro caminar como Comunidad de Vida Cristiana. Con este motivo, quieren orar y reflexionar juntos para que el Señor les conceda una mayor profundidad en la vivencia de vuestro carisma, y así, ahondando en el carisma recibido, sigan siendo un regalo para la Iglesia y para el mundo.

Pero este reconocer el don y la gracia que el Señor les ha concedido en estos años los ha de llevar, en primer lugar, a una humilde acción de gracias, porque Jesús se ha fijado en ustedes más allá de sus cualidades y virtudes. Pero al mismo tiempo, esto supone una llamada a la responsabilidad, a salir de ustedes mismos e ir al encuentro de los demás, para alimentarlos con el único pan capaz de saciar el corazón humano: el amor de Cristo. Que la “ilusión gnóstica” no los desoriente.

En el centro de vuestra espiritualidad ignaciana está el querer ser contemplativos en la acción. Contemplación y acción, las dos dimensiones juntas: porque sólo podemos entrar en el corazón de Dios a través de las llagas de Cristo, y sabemos que Cristo está llagado en los hambrientos, los ignorantes, los descartados, los ancianos, los enfermos, los encarcelados, en toda carne humana vulnerable.

Conducirse con un estilo de vida cristiano, de intensa vida espiritual y de trabajo por el Reino, significa dejarse plasmar por el amor de Jesús, tener sus mismos sentimientos (cf. Flp 2,5), preguntarse continuamente: ¿Qué he hecho por Cristo?, ¿qué hago por Cristo?, ¿qué debo hacer por Cristo? (cf. EE 53).

Les agradezco la entrega y amor a la Iglesia y a los hermanos, y los animo a seguir haciendo presente a Cristo en su ambiente, dando sentido apostólico a todas sus ocupaciones.

Y, por favor, no dejen de rezar por mí. Que Jesús los bendiga y la Virgen Santa los cuide.

Dear brother,

I have received your thoughtful letter letting me know about the forthcoming celebration of your 2018 World Assembly, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of your journeying as Christian Life Community. For this reason, you want to pray and reflect together so that the Lord may grant you a greater depth in the living out of your charism, and thus, by delving deeper into the received charism, you may continue to be a gift for the Church and for the world.

Note, the recognition of the gift and the grace that the Lord has given you over these years shall lead you, firstly, into a humble act of thanksgiving, because Jesus has looked at you beyond your qualities and virtues. At the same time, this entails a call to responsibility, to leave yourselves behind and go forth to encounter others, to nourish them with the only bread capable of satisfying the human heart: the love of Christ. That the "gnostic illusion" may not confuse you.

At the center of your Ignatian spirituality is this desire to be contemplatives in action. Contemplation and action, the two dimensions together: because we can only enter the heart of God through the wounds of Christ, and we know that Christ is wounded in the hungry, the uneducated, the discarded, the old, the sick, the imprisoned, in all the vulnerable human flesh.

To be guided by a Christian way of life, with a strong spiritual life and working for the Kingdom, means letting oneself be shaped by the love of Jesus, having his same sentiments (see Phil 2: 5), asking oneself continuously: What have I done for Christ? What am I doing for Christ? What ought I to do for Christ? (see Sp. Ex. 53).

I thank you for your dedication and love for the Church and our brethren, and I encourage you to continue making Christ present in your surroundings, giving apostolic meaning to all your occupations.

And, please, do not stop praying for me. May Jesus bless you and may the Holy Virgin take care of you.
