Nella mattinata di lunedì 18 novembre 2013, nel Palazzo Apostolico Vaticano, Sua Santità Francesco ha ricevuto in Udienza il Primo Ministro delle Bahamas, S.E. Perry Gladstone Christie, che successivamente, si è incontrato con il Segretario di Stato, S.E. Mons. Pietro Parolin, accompagnato da S.E. Mons. Dominique Mamberti, Segretario per i Rapporti con gli Stati.
Durante i cordiali colloqui, ci si è soffermati sul tema dell’emigrazione e sul contributo che la Chiesa cattolica offre alla popolazione, in particolare, nei settori assistenziale ed educativo, auspicando una più stretta collaborazione in questi ambiti.

On the morning of Monday 18 November 2013, in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, His Holiness Pope Francis received in audience the prime minister of the Bahamas, Perry Gladstone Christie, who subsequently went on to meet with the Secretary of State Archbishop Pietro Parolin, accompanied by Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, Secretary for Relations with States.
During the colloquial discussions, mention was made of the theme of emigration and the contribution the Catholic Church may offer to the population, especially in the sectors of welfare and education, and the Parties expressed their hope for closer collaboration in these fields.
