Pubblichiamo di seguito il discorso che l’Em.mo Card. Jean-Louis Tauran ha pronunciato questa sera alla cerimonia di inaugurazione del Centro per il Dialogo Interreligioso e Interculturale Re Abdullah bin Abdulaziz (KAICIID) che si è tenuta nel complesso di Hofburg a Vienna:

Your Excellencies,
Ladies and gentlemen,

It is my privilege to bring to this assembly the greetings of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, as well as his prayerful wishes for the success of the activity of this Dialogue Centre.

Ladies and gentlemen,

We are being watched. Everyone is expecting from the initiative of His Majesty King Abdullah, supported by the governments of Austria and Spain, with the assistance of the Holy See as Founding Observer, honesty, vision and credibility.

This Centre presents another opportunity for open dialogue on many issues, including those related to fundamental human rights, in particular religious freedom in all its aspects, for every body, for every community, everywhere. In this regard, you will understand that the Holy See is particularly attentive to the fate of Christian communities in countries where such a freedom is not adequately guaranteed. Information, new initiatives, aspirations, and perhaps also failures will be brought to our attention. It then will be the task of the Centre – and when possible with the cooperation of other organizations – to verify their authenticity and to act consequently, in order that our contemporaries not be deprived of the light and the resources that religion offers for the happiness of every human being.

Believers have to work for and to support all that favours the human person in his material, moral and religious aspirations. So three attitudes are required:

1) respect of the other in his/her specificity;

2) mutual objective knowledge of the religious tradition of each other, particularly through education,;

3) collaboration in order that our pilgrimage towards the Truth be realized in freedom and serenity.

Concluding and quoting Pope Benedict XVI, I would like to assure you of the cooperation of the Catholic Church: "By her presence, her prayer and her various works of mercy, especially in education and health care, she wishes to give her best to everyone. She wants to be close to those who are in need, near to those who search for God." (Apostolic Journey to Benin, Welcome Ceremony, 18 November 2011).

It is in this spirit of brotherhood and friendship that we have to work!

Signore e Signori,
È mio onore portare a questa assemblea i saluti di Sua Santità Papa Benedetto XVI, come i suoi più fervidi auguri per il successo dell'attività di questo Centro per il Dialogo.

Signore e Signori,

Siamo osservati. Ognuno si aspetta dall'iniziativa di Sua Maestà Re Abdullah, supportata dai governi di Austria e Spagna, con l'assistenza della Santa Sede come Osservatore Fondatore, onestà apertura e credibilità.

Il Centro presenta un'altra opportunità per aprire un dialogo su molti temi, tra cui quelli relativi ai diritti umani fondamentali, in particolare, alla libertà religiosa in tutte le sue forme, per ogni uomo, per ogni comunità, ovunque. A questo riguardo, voi capirete che la Santa Sede è particolarmente attenta alla sorte delle comunità cristiane nei Paesi, dove una tale libertà non è adeguatamente garantita. Informazione, nuove iniziative, aspirazioni e forse anche difetti, saranno portati alla nostra attenzione. Sarà, poi, compito del Centro -e, dove possibile con la cooperazione di altre organizzazioni- verificare la loro autenticità e agire di conseguenza, affinché i nostri contemporanei non siano privati della luce e delle proposte che la religione offre per la felicità di ogni essere umano.

I credenti devono lavorare e sostenere tutto ciò che favorisce la persona umana nelle sue aspirazioni materiali, morali e religiose. Così sono richiesti tre atteggiamenti:

1. Rispetto dell'altro nella sua specificità;

2. Conoscenza oggettiva reciproca della tradizioni religiosa di ognuno, specialmente attraverso l'educazione;

3. Collaborazione affinché il nostro pellegrinaggio verso la Verità sia realizzato nella libertà e nella serenità.

Concludendo e citando Papa Benedetto XVI, vorrei assicurarvi la cooperazione della Chiesa Cattolica: " Con la sua presenza, la sua preghiera e le sue diverse opere di misericordia, specialmente nel campo educativo e sanitario, desidera offrire ciò che ha di meglio. Vuole manifestarsi vicina a colui che si trova nel bisogno, a colui che cerca Dio." (Benedetto XVI, Viaggio Apostolico nel Benin, Cerimonia di benvenuto, 18 novembre 2011).

Credo che dobbiamo lavorare in quello spirito di fratellanza e di amicizia!

Mesdames et messieurs,

J’ai le privilège de porter à cette assemblée le salut de Sa Sainteté le Pape Benoît XVI, ainsi que ses vœux les plus pieux pour le succès des activités de ce centre de dialogue.

Mesdames et messieurs,

nous sommes observés. Tout le monde, de cette initiative lancée par Sa Majesté le roi Abdallah, soutenue par les gouvernements d’Autriche et d’Espagne, et avec l’aide du Saint-Siège en tant qu’observateur fondateur, attend honnêteté, vision et crédibilité.

Ce centre représente une autre occasion de dialoguer ouvertement sur tant de sujets, y compris ceux concernant les droits fondamentaux de l’Homme, en particulier la liberté religieuse dans tous ses aspects, pour chacun, pour chaque communauté, partout. A cet effet, vous comprendrez que le Saint-Siège soit particulièrement attentif au sort des communautés chrétiennes dans des pays où une telle liberté n’est pas suffisamment garantie. L’information, de nouvelles initiatives, des aspirations, et peut-être aussi des échecs seront portés à notre attention. Ce sera ensuite la tâche du Centre, et quand cela sera possible, avec la coopération d’autres organisations, de vérifier leur authenticité et d’agir en conséquence, afin que nos contemporains ne soient pas privés de la lumière et des ressources que la religion apporte au bonheur de chaque être humain.

Les croyants doivent travailler pour cela et pour soutenir tout ce qui favorise la personne humaine dans ses aspirations matérielles, morales et religieuses. Trois attitudes sont ainsi requises :

1: respect de l’autre dans sa spécificité ;

2: connaissance réciproque et objective de la tradition religieuse des uns et des autres, particulièrement grâce à l’éducation ;

3: collaboration afin que notre pèlerinage vers la Vérité soit réalisé en toute liberté et en toute sérénité.

Pour conclure, et en citant le Pape Benoît XVI, j’aimerais vous assurer de la coopération de l’Eglise catholique : « par sa présence, sa prière et ses différentes œuvres de miséricorde, spécialement dans le domaine éducatif et sanitaire, elle souhaite donner ce qu’elle a de meilleur. Elle veut se montrer proche de celui qui est dans le besoin, de celui qui cherche Dieu. » (Voyage apostolique au Bénin, cérémonie de bienvenue, 18 novembre 2011).

C’est dans cet esprit de fraternité et d’amitié que nous devons travailler !

Tengo el privilegio de traer a esta Asamblea los saludos del Papa Benedicto XVI, así como sus mejores deseos para el éxito de la actividad de este Centro de Diálogo.

Señoras y señores:

Nos observan. Todo el mundo espera de la iniciativa del Rey Abdullah, apoyada por los gobiernos de Austria y España, con la asistencia de la Santa Sede como Observador Fundador, clarividencia, honestidad y credibilidad.

Este Centro brinda otra oportunidad para un diálogo abierto en numerosos temas, incluidos los relacionados con los derechos humanos fundamentales, en particular con la libertad religiosa, en todas sus formas, para todos, para todas las comunidades, en cualquier lugar. A este respecto, pueden comprender cómo la Santa Sede esté particularmente interesada en el destino de las comunidades cristianas en aquellos países donde esta libertad no está garantizada adecuadamente. Información, nuevas iniciativas, aspiraciones, y quizá también fallos, serán sometidos a nuestra atención. Será entonces misión del Centro - y cuando sea posible también con la cooperación de otras organizaciones- verificar su autenticidad y actuar en consecuencia, para que nuestros contemporáneos no resulten privados de la luz y las propuestas que la religión ofrece para la felicidad de todo ser humano.

Los creyentes tienen que trabajar en pro y sostener todo lo que favorezca a la persona humana en sus aspiraciones materiales, morales y religiosas. Para ello son necesarios tres comportamientos:

1. Respeto del otro/ otra en su especificidad;

2. Conocimiento objetivo mutuo de las tradiciones religiosas y culturales de cada uno, particularmente a través de la educación.

3. Colaboración para que nuestra peregrinación hacia la Verdad se realice en la serenidad y en la libertad.

En conclusión y citando al Papa Benedicto XVI, les aseguro la cooperación de la Iglesia Católica: "Con su presencia, su oración y sus diversas obras de misericordia, especialmente en el campo de la educación y la sanidad, desea dar lo mejor que tiene. Desea mostrarse cercana de quien está en necesidad, de quien busca a Dios". (Benedicto XVI, Viaje Apostólico a Benin, Ceremonia de Bienvenida, 18 de noviembre del 2011).

Este es el espíritu de fraternidad y amistad con el que tenemos que trabajar.

كلمة نيافة الكاردينال جان لوي توران في مراسم إفتتاح مركز الملك عبدالله بن عبد العزيز للحوار الدينيّ والثقافيّ في فيينّا

صاحب الجلالة،

أصحاب السيادة،

سيّداتي سادتي،

إنّه لشَرفٌ لي أن أنقل إلى هذا اللقاء تحيّات قداسة البابا بندكتس السادس عشر وأمنياته بالنجاح لنشاط مركز الحوار هذا.

سيّداتي وسادتي،

 الجميع يعوِّل على أمانة ورؤية ومصداقيّة مبادرة جلالة الملك عبدالله، والتي تدعمها حكومتا النمسا وإسبانيا، بمساعدة الكرسيّ الرسوليّ بصفة مُؤسِّس مُراقِب.

يشكِّل هذا المركز فرصةً أخرى لحوار مفتوح حول مسائل عديدة، بما فيها تلك المتعلّقة بحقوق الإنسان الأساسيّة، لا سيّما الحرية الدينيّة في كلّ جوانبها، للجميع، لكلّ جماعة وفي كلّ مكان. وفي هذا الصدَد، تفهمون أن الكرسيّ الرسوليّ يهتمّ بخاصّةٍ بمصير الجماعات المسيحيّة في بلدانٍ لا تُضمَن فيها هكذا حرّيّة.

سيترَكَّز اهتمامُنا على معلومات ومبادرات جديدة وطموحات بالإضافة إلى إخفاقات مُحتَمَلة. عندها تُصبح مهمَّة المركز – بالتعاون عند الإمكان مع منظّمات أخرى – التحقُّق من صحَّتها والعمل بموجبِها، لكي لا يُحرَم معاصرونا من النور والموارد التي يقدِّمُها الدين لسعادة كلّ شخصٍ بشريّ.

على المؤمنين أن يعمَلوا على دعم كلِّ ما مِن شأنه أن يعزِّزَ طموحات الشخصِ البشَريّ، المادّيّة والأخلاقيّة والدينيّة. ويتطلَّبُ ذلك اتِّخاذَ ثلاثة مواقِف:

1)   إحترام الآخر بخَصائصِه.

2)   المعرفة الموضوعيَّة المتبادَلَة للتقليدِ الدينيِّ الخاصّ بالآخَر، لا سيّما عبر التربية.

3)   التعاون في سبيل تحقيقِ حَجِّنا نحوَ الحقيقة بحُرِّيَّةٍ وصَفاء.

أختمُ مستشهداً بقَول البابا بندكتس السادس عشر، مؤكِّداً تعاوُنَ الكنيسَةِ الكاثوليكِيَّة: "من خلال حضورِها وصَلاتِها وأعمال الرَّحمَة المتعدِّدَة التي تقوم بها، لا سيّما في مجالَي التربية والصحَّة. فهي ترغَبُ بتقديمِ أفضلِ ما بوسعها للجميع، وتريد أن تكونَ قريبةً مِن المُحتاجين، والذين يبحثون عن الله." علينا إذًا أن نعملَ بروحِ الأخُوَّة والصَّداقة هذا!
