Alle ore 12.45 il Santo Padre arriva all’aeroporto di Valencia-Manises dove ha luogo la Cerimonia di congedo. Dopo il saluto del Re di Spagna, Sua Maestà Juan Carlos de Borbón y Borbón, il Papa Benedetto XVI pronuncia il discorso che pubblichiamo di seguito:

Majestades,
Señor Presidente del Gobierno
y distinguidas Autoridades,
Señores Cardenales y Hermanos en el episcopado,
Queridos hermanos y hermanas:

1. Al concluir mi grata estancia en Valencia con motivo del V Encuentro Mundial de las Familias, agradezco vivamente a Sus Majestades los Reyes de España, a las Autoridades de la Nación, de la Generalitat, del Ayuntamiento y de la Diputación, así como al Señor Arzobispo y a todos vosotros, la amable hospitalidad que me habéis dispensado y las muestras de afecto en todos los momentos de mi visita a esta floreciente tierra levantina.

2. Confío en que, con la ayuda del Altísimo y la maternal protección de la Virgen María, este Encuentro siga resonando como un canto gozoso del amor, de la vida y de la fe compartida en las familias, ayudando al mundo de hoy a comprender que la alianza matrimonial, por la que el varón y la mujer establecen un vínculo permanente, es un gran bien para toda la humanidad.

3. Gracias por vuestra presencia aquí. Habéis venido de todos los continentes del mundo, con no pocos sacrificios que habéis afrontado y ofrecido al Señor. Os llevo en mi corazón. Mis sentimientos se unen a mi oración para que el Todopoderoso os bendiga hoy y siempre.

1. Nel concludere il mio gradito soggiorno a Valencia in occasione del V Incontro Mondiale delle Famiglie, ringrazio vivamente le Loro Maestà i Re della Spagna, le Autorità della Nazione, della Generalitat, del Comune e della Provincia, così come all’Arcivescovo e tutti voi, per la gentile ospitalità che mi avete dispensato e per le dimostrazioni di affetto in tutti i momenti della mia visita a questa fiorente terra levantina.

2. Confido che, con l'aiuto dell'Altissimo e la materna protezione della Vergine Maria, questo Incontro continui a risuonare come un canto gioioso dell'amore, della vita e della fede condivisa nelle famiglie, aiutando il mondo di oggi a comprendere che l'alleanza matrimoniale, per la quale l'uomo e la donna stabiliscono un vincolo permanente, è un grande bene per tutta l'umanità.

3. Grazie per la vostra presenza qui. Siete convenuti da tutti i continenti del mondo, con non pochi sacrifici che avete affrontato ed offerto al Signore. Vi porto nel mio cuore. I miei sentimenti si uniscono alla mia preghiera affinché l'Onnipotente vi benedica oggi e sempre.

At the conclusion of my very pleasant stay in Valencia for the Fifth World Meeting of Families, I express my deep gratitude to their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain, the National Authorities, the Generalidad of Valencia and the Mayor’s Office, as well as to the Archbishop and every one of you, for the kind hospitality and evident affection which you have shown me at every moment of my visit to this flourishing levantine land.

2. I am confident that, with the help of the Most High and the maternal protection of the Virgin Mary, this Meeting will keep echoing like a joyful song of the love, life and of faith shared by families, and help today’s world to understand that the marriage covenant, whereby man and woman establish a permanent bond, is a great good for all humanity.

3. I thank you for your presence here. You have come from all the continents of the world, at considerable sacrifice, which you have accepted and offered to the Lord. You have a special place in my heart. My heartfelt prayer is that Almighty God will bless you today and always.

Au terme de mon agréable séjour à Valence à l’occasion de la cinquième Rencontre mondiale des Familles, j’exprime ma vive gratitude à leurs Altesses Royales d’Espagne, aux Autorités de la Nation, de la Région autonome de Valence et de la Mairie, ainsi qu’à Monseigneur l’Archevêque et à vous tous, pour l’aimable hospitalité dont vous m’avez gratifié et pour les marques d’affection que vous m’avez témoignées tout au long de ma visite dans cette terre levantine florissante.

2. Je suis sûr que, avec l’aide du Très-Haut et la maternelle protection de la Vierge Marie, cette Rencontre continuera de résonner comme un hymne joyeux à l’amour, à la vie et à la foi partagée par les familles, aidant le monde d’aujourd’hui à comprendre que l’alliance matrimoniale, par laquelle le mari et la femme établissent un lien permanent, est un grand bien pour toute l’humanité.

3. Merci de votre présence ici. Vous êtes venus de tous les continents du monde, non sans avoir fait des sacrifices que vous avez offerts au Seigneur. Je vous porte dans mon cœur. Mes sentiments s’associent à ma prière pour que le Tout-Puissant vous bénisse maintenant et toujours.
