PRESS RELEASE
POPE LEO XIV TO MEET THE CLERGY OF ROME AND VISIT FIVE ROMAN PARISHES
The presbyters will be in the Paul VI Hall on 19 February, while the parish communities will welcome the Holy Father on Sundays until Easter
Pope Leo XIV will meet again with the clergy of the diocese of Rome: he will do so – as is traditional – on the Thursday following Ash Wednesday, i.e. Thursday 19 February. The meeting will take place in the Paul VI Hall at 10.00.
Also during Lent, the Holy Father will visit several parish communities in the diocese of Rome, one for each of the pastoral sectors into which it is divided. The parishes are: Santa Maria Regina Pacis in Ostia Lido (South), on 15 February; Sacro Cuore di Gesù in Castro Pretorio (Centre), on 22 February; Ascensione di Nostro Signore Gesù Cristo (East), on 1 March; Santa Maria della Presentazione (West), on 8 March; Sacro Cuore di Gesù in Ponte Mammolo (North), on 15 March.
“These will be genuinely pastoral visits”, states Cardinal Vicar BALDO REINA, “so POPE LEO XIV will meet with participatory organizations, pastoral leaders and some youth groups. The highlight of the visit will be the Eucharistic celebration with the entire parish community. The Holy Father is beginning his visits to the parishes of his diocese, following in the footsteps of his predecessors, and this is a source of great joy for all of us and an opportunity to explore the themes of the pastoral plan with our Bishop”.
Journalists and media operators who wish to attend must apply, no later than 24 hours before the event, exclusively via the Holy See Press Office online accreditation system, at: press.vatican.va/accreditamenti
