New Media Officer of the Pontifical Swiss Guard

Vice-Corporal Claude Frei is the new media officer with effect from 1 December 2025. He replaces Corporal Eliah Cinotti in this role.

Vice-Corporal Claude Frei, originally from Diepoldsau-Schmitter (SG) joined of the Pontifical Swiss Guard Corps on 1 June 2020. Before he was appointed in the Vatican, Vice-Corporal Claude Frei completed his apprenticeship as a mechanic-machine engineer in Heebrugg (SG). He served in the Swiss Army with the rank of sergeant in the logistics troops.

Corporal Eliah Cinotti left the Pontifical Swiss Guard at the end of November 2025 to take on a new professional challenge. The Pontifical Swiss Guard would like to thank him warmly for his great commitment in his role as media officer.
