JUBILEE OF BANDS AND POPULAR ENTERTAINMENT IN ROME

ON 10 AND 11 MAY

(Vatican City, 7 May 2025) – On Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 May 2025, Rome will host the Jubilee of Bands and Popular Entertainment, dedicated to military, institutional, amateur, folk, village, school and college bands, as well as all the categories of popular entertainment throughout the world. More than ten thousand people from over 90 countries have registered for the Jubilee event.

The Jubilee of Bands and Popular Entertainment will involve over thirteen thousand participants, mostly from Italy, but there will also be numerous groups from the United States, Malta, Poland, Spain, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, and Argentina. On Saturday 10 May, from 8.00 to 18.00, there will be organized pilgrimages of participants in the Jubilee of Bands to the Holy Door of Saint Peter’s Basilica. From 16.00 to 19.00, then, it will be possible to attend, free of charge, a large event of musical bands in 31 squares in the centre of Rome, with performances from over 100 bands and groups from all over the world. It is possible to consult the list of performances, with details on locations, start times and the band present, on the official Jubilee website and on the app Iubilaeum25.

Finally, in Piazza Cavour, on Sunday 11 May at 10.00 there will be a Holy Mass presided over by Archbishop Rino Fisichella, responsible for organizing the Jubilee 2025. Entry in the Square will be possible from 8.00 and the celebration does not require any type of ticket. At the end of the Eucharistic Celebration, the pilgrims will march in procession towards Saint Peter’s Square, with their musical instruments and characteristic uniforms. During the journey, the participating bands will perform with pieces of their own choice, marching in pilgrimage towards the Square.
