The Pontifical Academy of Theology (PATH) has new premises in Via della Pigna 13/A in Rome.
On the occasion of the inauguration, the Academy has organized a study session on the role of theology in Pope Francis’ pontificate, to be held on Thursday 7 November at 17.30 in the Salone Apollo of Palazzo Maffei Marescotti.
“In reality”, explains Bishop Antonio Staglianò, president of the PATH, “we can affirm not only that new premises are being opened, but that the seat of the “new” Pontifical Academy of Theology is being inaugurated. The premises that house the Academy will allow us to implement better the new areas of activity in which the PATH is working following the adoption of the new Statutes approved by Pope Francis”.
The programme of the meeting involves, after the initial greeting and the introduction from Bishop Staglianò, interventions by Archbishop Edgar Peña Parra, Substitute for General Affairs of the Secretariat of State of the Holy See, entitled “The Motu proprio Ad Theologiam promovendam in the light of Praedicate Evangelium”, and Archbishop Cesare Pagazzi, Secretary of the Dicastery for Culture and Education, dedicated to the theme “Rethinking thought”. The contribution of theology to a sapiential style”. The conclusions will be given by Professor Giuseppe Marco Salvati, Prelate Secretary of the Pontifical Academy of Theology.
