Presentation of the International Inter-University Conference
“Women in the Church: Builders of humanity”

Rome, 23/02/2024 - On Wednesday, 28 February 2024, at the Pontifical Patristic Institute Augustinianum (Via Paolo VI, 25, 00193, Rome) at 11:00 a.m., a Press Conference will be held for the presentation of the Inter-University Conference "Women in the Church: Builders of humanity" scheduled for 7 and 8 March 2024 at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross.

Speakers will include: Prof. Gabriella Gambino, Undersecretary of the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life; Prof. Cristina Reyes Academic Vice-Rector of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross; and Prof. Lorella Congiunti of the Pontifical Urbanian University.

"Women in the Church: Builders of humanity" is an event that is organised every two years to reflect on the role of women in the Church. For the year 2024, 10 women saints have been chosen whose testimonies will be recounted by 10 speakers. The 10 saints are: St Josephine Bakhita, Venerable Magdeleine de Jesus, St Elizabeth Ann Seton, St Mary Mackillop, St Laura of St Catherine of Siena, St Catherine Tekakwitha, St Teresa of Calcutta, St Rebecca (Rafqa Ar-Rayès), Blessed Maria Beltrame Quattrocchi, Servant of God Daphrose Mukansanga.

The Scientific Committee of the International Inter-University Congress is composed of several Catholic and Pontifical Universities: Catholic University of Avila (UCAV), Pontifical Urbanian University, Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, Institute for Advanced Studies on Women of the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum and Pontifical Theological Faculty Teresianum in Rome.

Participation in the event is free, however any donations will be given to support children and families in Aleppo (Syria).
