15 January marks the inauguration of the Academic Year

of the Rome branch of the Catholic University
Address by the Patriarch of Jerusalem of the Latins

Rome, 12 January 2024 – On Monday 15 January 2024, the inauguration ceremony for the Academic Year 2023/2024 of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart will take place in Rome (Auditorium, Largo F. Vito, 1).

The Patriarch of Jerusalem of the Latins, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, will speak, with an address entitled “The need to think about peace in the Holy Land”.

At 14.30, in the Auditorium, the Rector of the Catholic University, Professor Franco Anelli, will deliver the inaugural address. This will be followed by a speech from the Head of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, Antonio Gasbarrini, and the address of Cardinal Pizzaballa.

This will be followed by the opening address, entitled “Prevention and lifestyles for women: from reproduction to gender medicine”, by Stefania Boccia, Professor of General and Applied Hygiene, and Antonio Lanzone, Professor of Gynaecology and Obstetrics.

Before the opening ceremony, at 12 noon, the Eucharistic Celebration will be held in the central church, presided over by H.E. Monsignor Claudio Giuliodori, General Ecclesiastical Assistant of the Catholic University.

Accredited journalists and cameramen will have a dedicated desk inside the Auditorium, to which they will be able to gain access by collecting their pass from 13.30 on Monday 15 January at the special desk in the atrium of the Hall.

To facilitate entry into the Auditorium, accredited participants will be able to use a car park (P15) adjacent to the venue.
