ECONOMY OF FRATERNITY, FROM ASSISI AN AWARD OF 50,000 EURO Interventions include Archbishop Sorrentino, Sister Alessandra Smerilli and Father Giulio Albanese
ROMA – Concrete help to kick start economic processes from below, with respect for every person, in a climate of fraternity, as an example to foster a fraternal and human economy of solidarity, as exhorted numerous times by Pope Francis, also through “The Economy of Francesco”. This is the basis of the International Award “Francis of Assisi and Carlo Acutis for an Economy of Fraternity,” established by the Sanctuary of Renunciation (Santuario della Spogliazione) Foundation of the Diocese of Assisi – Nocera Umbra – Gualdo Tadino, consigning to the winner financial support of 50,000 Euro, an icon with the image of Saint Francis and Blessed Carlo Acutis, and a foulard of the renunciation of Saint Francis, designed by Brunello Cucinelli.
“With last year’s Award of a project in Chad, carried out by young people on the streets, thanks to this help, they are now working – explains Archbishop Domenico Sorrentino – we are making known and supporting a different, supportive, fraternal and fair economy”.
