PRESS RELEASE

SUNDAY 26 NOVEMBER

“THE JUBILEE CONCERTS – HARMONIES OF HOPE”
THE KYIV VIRTUOSI PERFORM DVOŘÁK
IN THE AUDITORIUM DELLA CONCILIAZIONE

(Vatican City) – On Sunday 26 November at 18.00, in Rome, at the Auditorium della Conciliazione (Via della Conciliazione, 4), the symphonic orchestra The Kyiv Virtuosi will perform Antonín Dvořák’s Fifth Symphony, “From the New World”. It is another event from the cultural programme “The Jubilee is Culture”, in preparation for the Holy Year, promoted by the Dicastery for Evangelization, and the first of the eight “Jubilee Concerts – Harmonies of Hope”. In his last symphony the Bohemian musician Dvořák distanced himself from his previous symphonic works, and takes a freer and more innovative, less solemn and austere approach. The orchestra that will perform the pieces was formed by a group of talented Ukrainian musicians and is conducted by maestro Dmitry Yablonsky, a world-renowned cellist.

"It seems logical to me to open the season of these Jubilee concerts with Dvořák's symphony", says Archbishop Rino Fisichella, pro-prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization and entrusted by Pope Francis with the organization of the next Jubilee. "'From the New World' recalls the theme of hope", he continued, "the same to which we are called by the motto of this Jubilee 2025. The Kyiv Virtuosi, besides being extraordinary musicians, give us the opportunity to express a small gesture of support for Ukraine, a form of participation through the universal language of music, in the hope of a truly 'new' world”.

The concert is free of charge and ticket availability is guaranteed while places last. To participate, book online through the special section on the official Jubilee 2025 website at the link: https://events.iubilaeum2025.va/registration. The unique QR Code, which will be generated when the tickets are booked online, must be downloaded and presented at the theatre entrance, either digitally or in hard copy.
