The future is today! Pope Francis’ new video

(Vatican City – 20 September 2022)

The young must be the agents of the future, says Pope Francis in the new video published by the Migrants and Refugees (M&R) Section in view of the 108th World Day of Migrants and Refugees, to be celebrated this coming Sunday, 25 September.

The Holy Father talks about the future, a future that “starts today and starts from us”. The responsibility for decisions cannot be left to the next generations.

Pope Francis’ words are accompanied by the witness of two Talitha Kum ambassadors engaged in the fight against human trafficking. The two young people recount the scourge of trafficking in Asia and tell how they are working to help those in need, thus committing themselves to building a better future.

In order to achieve this future, Pope Francis asks us: Which decisions need to be taken straight away to build a better future, inclusive for all, right from today?

We are called to respond personally, and to contribute to this reflection it is possible to send a brief video or photo with your answer to media@migrants-refugees.va, or by consulting the M&R Section directly via social media.

To celebrate the World Day of Migrants and Refugees, on the dedicated webpage it is possible to find a kit in various languages containing: tips on the Eucharistic Celebration, prayers, activities for young people and adults, and much more.

The Migrants and Refugees Section will be pleased to receive and publish videos or photographs of the World Day of Migrants and Refugees in the various communities.
