Fr. Kolumban Reichlin is the new Chaplain of the Pontifical Swiss Guard

Today, 1 September 2021, the Holy Father Francis appointed Fr. Kolumban Reichlin OSB as the new chaplain of the Pontifical Swiss Guard.

Fr. Kolumban Reichlin was born on 2 March 1971. After finishing high school in Schwyz, he entered the monastery in Einsiedeln in 1991. After completing his theology studies in Einsiedeln and St. Meinrad (USA), he was ordained a priest in Einsiedeln in 1997. He then studied history and liturgical science in Bern, Fribourg and Rome. In the monastery he held various offices, in particular that of pilgrimage leader. He also distinguished himself through his involvement in various liturgy commissions. Finally, from 2009 to 2020 he worked as provost at the provostry of Saint Gerold in Vorarlberg (Austria), which belongs to the monastery of Einsiedeln.

Fr. Kolumban Reichlin will take up his new post on 1 October 2021.
