Pope Francis rested throughout the night. He did not present any episodes of fever. Tests carried out during the day confirmed the respiratory tract infection. The therapy was slightly modified on the basis of further microbiological findings. Today's laboratory examinations show improvement in some values.

During the morning, he received the Holy Eucharist, and then alternated rest with prayer and reading.

In order to facilitate his recovery, the medical staff have prescribed full rest; therefore, tomorrow, Sunday 16 February, the Holy Father will not lead the Angelus prayer. He nevertheless wished to send the text for publication.

Pope Francis has been informed of the many messages of closeness and affection he has received, and expresses his gratitude, at the same time asking for continued prayers.
