Communiqué of the Dicastery for the Eastern Churches

The Holy Father, at the Audience granted on 23 June 2023 to Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti, prefect of the Dicastery for the Eastern Churches, has appointed Archbishop Cyril Vasil', SJ, bishop of Košice of the Byzantines, as pontifical delegate with special faculties to resolve the situation of the Archeparchy of Ernakulam-Angamaly of the Syro-Malabars, ensuring the implementation of the liturgical reform approved by the Synod of the Syro-Malabar Major Archiepiscopal Church.

The mission began with the arrival in India on 4 August 2023.
