In response to questions from a number of journalists, received at the Press Office and forwarded to the Office of the Promoter of Justice of the Vatican City State, the latter stated the following:
"With regard to the Emanuela Orlandi affair, in recent months this office has collected all the evidence available in the structures of the Vatican and the Holy See, also seeking evidence through conversations with the persons holding certain offices at the time of the events. It has proceeded to examine the material, confirming certain lines of investigation worthy of further investigation and transmitting all the relevant documentation, in recent weeks, to the Public Prosecutor's Office in Rome, so that the latter may examine it and proceed in the direction it deems most appropriate.
The Promoter will continue its activities in this direction in the months to come, close to the grief of Emanuela's family and aware of the suffering one feels for the disappearance of a relative".
