The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the office of auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of New York, United States of America, presented by Bishop Peter J. Byrne.

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Monsignor Grzegorz Piotr Bielaszka, nunciature counsellor, as apostolic nuncio in the United Arab Emirates, at the same time elevating him to the dignity of Archbishop.
Curriculum vitae
Archbishop-elect Grzegorz Piotr Bielaszka was born on 4 August 1974 in Szczucin, Poland. He was ordained a priest on 22 May 1999 and incardinated into the diocese of Tarnów. He graduated in canon law.
He entered the Holy See diplomatic service on 1 July 2006, and has served in the apostolic nunciatures in Panama, Iraq, Hungary, Peru and Gabon.
He knows Italian, French, English and Spanish.
