Resignation and appointment of archbishop of Puebla de los Ángeles, Mexico
The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the archdiocese of Puebla de los Ángeles, Mexico, presented by Archbishop Víctor Valentin Sánchez Espinosa.
The Holy Father has appointed Archbishop Jorge Carlos Patrón Wong, hitherto of Jalapa, as archbishop of Puebla de los Ángeles, Mexico.
Curriculum vitae
Archbishop Jorge Carlos Patrón Wong was born on 3 January 1958 in Mérida, archdiocese of Yucatán. He studied philosophy and theology at the Seminary of Yucatán. He was awarded a licentiate in spiritual theology and psychology at the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome.
He was ordained a priest on 12 January 1988 for the archdiocese of Yucatán.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar, professor, spiritual adviser, chaplain, coordinator of the “Media and Communication” Commission, formator and rector of the Seminary of Yucatán; president of the Organization of Mexican Seminaries (OSMEX) and president of the Latin American Organization of Seminaries (OSLAM).
He was appointed coadjutor bishop of the diocese of Papantla on 15 October 2009, receiving episcopal ordination the following 15 December; on 2 May 2012 he became full bishop of the same diocese.
Within the Mexican Episcopal Conference, he has served as chair of the Episcopal Commission for Vocations and Ministries of the Mexican Episcopal Conference, and member of the Department of Vocations and Ministries of the Latin American Episcopal Council (CELAM).
On 21 September 2013 he was appointed secretary for seminaries at the Congregation of the Clergy, and at the same time elevated to the dignity of Archbishop.
On 8 December 2021 he was appointed archbishop of Jalapa.
He is currently coordinator of the Council of Cebitepal, a body for theological and pastoral formation in Latin America and the Caribbean, which forms part of the Latin American and Caribbean Episcopal Council (CELAM).

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Querétaro, Mexico, presented by Bishop Fidencio López Plaza.
The Holy Father has appointed Bishop J. Víctor Alejandro Aguilar Ledesma as bishop of the diocese of Querétaro, Mexico, transferring him from the diocese of Celaya.
Curriculum vitae
Bishop Víctor Alejandro Aguilar Ledesma was born on 5 April 1965 in San Guillermo, diocese of Irapuato. He was awarded a licentiate in family pastoral ministry from the Pontifical Lateran University of Rome.
He was ordained a priest on 10 December 1989, and incardinated into the archdiocese of Morelia.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar, parish administrator, head of the diocesan secretariat of Evangelization and Catechesis, chaplain of the Poor Clares, Episcopal vicar, parish priest, professor in the diocesan seminary, diocesan coordinator of pastoral ministry and diocesan assistant for the Christian Family Movement.
On 1 December 2015 he was appointed titular bishop of Castulo and auxiliary of the archdiocese of Morelia, receiving episcopal ordination on 25 February 2016.
On 12 June 2021 he was appointed bishop of Celaya.
Within the Mexican Episcopal Conference, he is head of the Dimension for the Laity.
