Appointment of Scriptor Latinus of the Vatican Apostolic Library
The Holy Father has appointed the distinguished Dr. Andreina Rita, director of the Department of Printed Works of the Vatican Apostolic Library, as Scriptor Latinus of the aforementioned Institution.
Dr. Rita was born in Caprarola, Italy, on 6 August 1965. She graduated in modern letters from “La Sapienza” University of Rome, and obtained diplomas from the Vatican School of Library Science and the Special School for Archivists and Librarians at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. In 1994, she joined the Vatican Apostolic Library, where she was appointed office head in 2017 and director of the Department of Printed Works in 2020. She is the author and editor of monographs and articles dedicated to the history of books and libraries.
