Appointment of auxiliary bishops of Rome, Italy
The Holy Father has appointed the following as auxiliary bishops of Rome, Italy: the Reverend Stefano Sparapani, of the clergy of Rome, parish priest of San Basilio and episcopal vicar for the North Sector of the city assigning him the titular see of Bisenzio; the Reverend Alessandro Zenobbi, of the clergy of Rome, parish priest of Santa Lucia and episcopal vicar for the West Sector, assigning him the titular see of Biccari; the Reverend Andrea Carlevale, of the clergy of Rome, parish priest of San Giovanni Battista de Rossi, assigning him the titular see of Atella; and the Reverend Marco Valenti, of the clergy of Rome, parish priest of Trasfigurazione di Nostro Signore Gesù Cristo, assigning him the titular see of Arpi.
Curriculum vitae of Msgr. Stefano Sparapani
Msgr. Stefano Sparapani was born in Rome on 24 July 1956. He was awarded a diploma in surveying and attended the Opera Regina Apostolorum, an inter-parish Catholic association. He enrolled at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Pontifical Lateran University and subsequently entered the Almo Collegio Capranica, continuing his specialist studies in moral theology at the Alphonsian Academy of Rome.
He was ordained a priest for the diocese of Rome on 4 October 1991.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar (1991-1995) and parish priest (1995-2010) in Corviale; since 2010, parish priest of San Basilio; since 2015, spiritual father of the Almo Collegio Capranica, and since 2025, episcopal vicar for the North Sector of Rome.
Curriculum vitae of Msgr. Alessandro Zenobbi
Msgr. Alessandro Zenobbi was born on 10 November 1969 in Rome. He attended the Pontifical Roman Major Seminary.
He was ordained a priest for the diocese of Rome on 28 April 1996.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar (1996-2008) and parish priest (2008-2017) of San Policarpo. Since 2017 he has served as parish priest of Santa Lucia and, since 2025, episcopal vicar for the West Sector of Rome.
Curriculum vitae of Msgr. Andrea Carlevale
Msgr. Andrea Carlevale was born in Rome on 8 April 1971. He attended the Pontifical Roman Major Seminary.
He was ordained a priest for the diocese of Rome on 3 May 1998.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Santa Galla alla Garbatella (1998-2003); parish vicar of Sant’Ireneo a Centocelle (2003-2009); assistant of the Pontifical Roman Major Seminary (2009-2015); parish priest of Santa Maria di Loreto in Castelverde-Lunghezza (2015-2025). In the same period, he was also elected prefect of priests of his prefecture of origin. Since 2025 he has served as parish priest of San Giovanni Battista de Rossi in the Appio-Latino area.
Curriculum vitae of Msgr. Marco Valenti
Msgr. Marco Valenti was born on 28 February 1961 in Cantalupo in Sabina, province of Rieti and diocese of Sabina-Poggio Mirteto. He attended the Pontifical Roman Minor Seminary and then the Pontifical Roman Major Seminary. He was awarded a bachelor’s degree in philosophy at the Pontifical Lateran University of Rome and in theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University of Rome. He then obtained a licentiate in theology and a degree in art history from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Rome La Sapienza.
He was ordained a priest for the diocese of Rome on 26 April 1986.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Santa Maria Goretti (1986-1989); parish vicar of Santa Maria Maddalena de’ Pazzi (1990-1994); parish vicar of Gran Madre di Dio (1994-1996); parish priest of San Giuseppe Artigiano (1996-2010); and parish priest of San Saturnino (2010-2024). Since 2024 he has served as parish priest of Trasfigurazione di Nostro Signore Gesù Cristo.
