The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Sergio Roberto Bosco, of the clergy of the diocese of Villa de la Concepción del Río Cuarto, Argentina, rector of the diocesan seminary, as auxiliary bishop of the same diocese, assigning him the titular see of Cissi.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Sergio Roberto Bosco was born on 1 February 1970 in Sampacho, province of Córdoba. He studied theology at the Jesús Bom Pastor Seminary in Villa de la Concepción del Río Cuarto, and was awarded a degree in theology from the Universidad Católica Argentina.
He was ordained a priest on 10 October 1997, and incardinated in the diocese of Villa de la Concepción del Río Cuarto.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Nuestra Señora del Carmen in Huinca Renancó (1997-1998), parish vicar in General Deheza (1998-2000), parish administrator of San José de Tegua in Alcira Gigena (2001-2005), parish priest of Sagrada Corazón de Jesús in Berrotatán (2009-2021), and parish administrator of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción (2013-2014).
Since 2021 he has served as rector and professor of the diocesan seminary, and since 2022, member of the College of Consultors, the Presbyteral Council and the Council for Orders and Ministries.
Appointment of coadjutor bishop of Criciúma, Brazil
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Fr. Milton Zonta, S.D.S., former superior general of the Society of the Divine Saviour (Salvatorians), as coadjutor bishop of Criciúma, Brazil.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Milton Zonta, S.D.S., was born on 2 June 1960 in Videira, diocese of Caçador, in the State of Santa Catarina, Brazil.
He carried out his studies in philosophy at the Universidade Salesiana in Lorena-SP, and in theology at the Instituto Teológico São Paulo-ITESP in São Paulo-SP. He attended a specialization course in youth pastoral care at the Instituto de Pastoral da Juventude in Porto Alegre-RS, and in Metodologia de Planejamento Pastorale Latino-americano at the Pontificia Universidade Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia.
He gave his religious vows in the Society of the Divine Saviour (Salvatorians) in 1986, and received priestly ordination on 17 January 1987.
He has held the following offices: parish vicar of Imaculada Conceição in Videira-SC (1987-1990; 1997-2003), vocational promoter for the Province (1991-1994), missionary in the diocese of Brejo, in the State of Maranhão (1995), Provincial Superior (2004-2006), Counsellor General (2007-2012) and then Superior General in Rome (2012-2024).
He is currently parish vicar of Imaculada Conceição in Videira-SC.
